SUPER 60

On Sunday, February 1, Prep Baseball hosted the 24th Super 60 Pro Showcase at The MAX in McCook, Ill. The showcase marks the first marquee event of 2026 with plenty of buzz with the conclusion of MLB’s new amateur scouting restrictions.

This year’s edition kicked off in record breaking fashion as Alex Weingartner (St. Augustine Prep, NJ, Penn State commit) ran a 6.24 second 60-yard dash, the fastest in event history surpassing LSU’s William Patrick’s (St. Frederick HS, LA) 6.29 the year prior.

During the pitching portion speed continued to set records as Landon Brown’s (Iowa Colony, HS, TX, Mississippi State commit) max fastball velocity of 97.7 mph tied the event’s all-time best since 2020 with Blake Wolters (2023, Kansas City Royals 2nd round pick, Mahomet Seymour HS, IL) and Chris Levonas (2024, Christian Brothers Academy, NJ, Wake Forest).

With an average fastball range of 91.4-92.7 mph, Tucker Long’s (Ottumwa HS, IA, Ole Miss commit) heater also set event records with an average horizontal movement of 19.5”, beating out Gray Thomas’ (2021, Chicago White Sox UDFA, Heritage Hall HS, OK) 19.3”.

With the bat, more records were broken, including a brand new top four in average exit velocity since 2020. Collin Bland (Houston HS, TX, Vanderbilt commit) sits at the top with an average of 105.3 mph, followed by Dominic Santarelli’s (St. Joseph HS, WI, LSU commit) 104.8 mph, then Dominic Battista (Oswego East HS, IL, UIC commit) at 104.8 mph and Anthony Chavez (Mount Carmel HS, IL, Illinois commit) averaging 103.9 mph, all placing ahead of Kale Fountain (2024, San Diego Padres 5th round pick, Norris HS, NE) who averaged 103.7 mph. Another demonstration of Super 60 power came from Brock Rein (Starr’s Mill HS, GA, Georgia commit) who hit the farthest tracked ball by TrackMan at 434 feet, beating out Taitn Gray’s (2025, Tampa Bay Rays 3rd round pick, Dallas Center-Grimes HS, IA) 433 feet.
