As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Top Throw Tool Class of 2027

Matt Meeker OF / 1B / Waukee High School, IA / 2027

Meeker is arguably one of the most physically gifted players we saw all year. He possesses a highly projectable corner outfield frame at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, along with the athleticism to perform at the next level, traits that led Arkansas to secure his commitment.

At the 2025 Future Games representing the Midwest team, Meeker showed significant power at the plate, but it was his arm strength from the outfield that truly stood out. He recorded a 96 MPH throw, ranking among the top ten arms at the event and earning him the top spot on our list of throwers we saw throughout the year.
