Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Preseason ID - Session 1, one of the premier events on the Prep Baseball calendar, was held on Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18th at Pearl City High School in Oahu, HI. This invite-only showcase featured top prospects from the 2026-2030 classes, each looking to make a statement ahead of the spring season.

Participants took part in an extended, pro-style workout that included batting practice tracked by TrackMan and Blast Motion, 60-yard dash testing powered by VALD Performance, and a full defensive evaluation. Pitchers threw simulated bullpens during the workout, capturing advanced metrics via our TrackMan unit such as pitch velocity, spin rate, and horizontal and vertical movement. The event featured a strong mix of familiar standouts continuing to build on previous performances, along with several new names who emerged with eye-opening showings.

The lone 2030 class representative at the Las Vegas Preseason ID put together yet another stand out performance on both sides of the ball. Being the youngest player at the event, he didn’t shy away from earning his spot either at or near the top of multiple metric categories. Getting his day started with an 87 mph Outfield Velocity, he continued that into a line dry field batting practice session, showing his ability to drive the ball to the big part of the yard. He then towed the rubber, where he ran his fastball up to an event best 86.2 mph along with a 19.9 inch IVB. A secondary mix that consist of a curveball and a change up are both progressing as well with the curveball now showing later, tighter action with improved feel for the change up.

His 100.8 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity ranked him number two among all participants at the event to go with a 91.8 mph Average Exit Velocity that proves he can consistently find the barrel with authority. Defensively his actions continue to improve each time out with more comfort in both the forehand and back hand plays as his feet seem to be catching up with his improved 60 time of 7.12. The actions were complimented with new personal best in both Infield Velocity at 88 mph and Outfield Velocity at 85 mph. There’s a lot to like about this freshman with him only now scratching the surface of what’s to come as he continues to fill out his 6’1/166.5 pound frame.

Jaxon Burr SS / 2B / Centennial, NV / 2028

A player that has continued to make steady improvement each time out with us is 2028 MTBA/Centennial product, Jaxon Burr. He continued to show. His game trend with a new personal best 7.01 VALD 60 time, that showed his top running speed at 20.0 mph. At the plate. This freshman performed like anything but a freshman. His present feel at the plate paired with the projectable frame that has plenty of room to add size and strength makes him a very intriguing bat to follow. Keep an eye on Gazda this spring as a player that we expect to have their breakout spring.

Over the past year, you can see Perry’s game make incremental progression and he seems to only be scratching the surface of what's to come with a significant amount of room still to fill out his long, lean frame and we expect his tools to parallel his physical size and strength gains.

Eddie Peterson C / 3B / Shadow Ridge, NV / 2027

The 2025 Future Games alum has only seen his game continue to improve since July, putting up multiple new personal bests at the Las Vegas Preseason ID with his improve physicality on full display.
