2026 OUTLOOK

+ Biloxi enters the 2026 season looking to rebound from a 12–16 campaign, returning a deep and athletic roster with multiple two-way pieces and a strong wave of underclass talent. Under head coach Hawtin Buchanan, the Indians bring back a large group of varsity contributors, giving the program positional flexibility and pitching depth as it competes in District 4 of Class 7A.

The offense is anchored by a core of experienced infielders and versatile bats. Bryk Bucklar (2026) stands out as a key two-way piece, contributing behind the plate, in the infield, and on the mound. His ability to impact the game in multiple facets makes him a central figure in the lineup. Leyton Gunter (2026) and Connor Lofton (2026) provide stability on the dirt, offering reliable gloves and developing offensive profiles that should lengthen the order.

Adam Rugg (2027) adds athleticism to the outfield, while Gage Dalferes (2027) brings value as a catcher/right-hander who can manage the pitching staff and contribute offensively. Dalferes’ presence behind the plate gives Biloxi consistency defensively, while also providing another arm capable of logging meaningful innings.

On the mound, the Indians return a solid group led by Brody Nguyen (2026), Bucklar, and Evan Porter (2026, East Central CC). Nguyen provides a steady right-handed look, Bucklar offers versatility as a two-way contributor, and Porter brings experience and polish after committing to East Central. This trio forms the backbone of the staff, with several additional arms pushing for expanded roles.

Depth remains a strength across the roster. Luke Bievenue (2026) and Jordon May (2026) add infield versatility, while Aden Vanney (2026) and Gavin Humphries (2026) bolster the outfield mix. The 2027 class brings additional upside with Gavin Brantley, Cash Taylor, Caden Hughes, and Rylan Bunch, each providing athletic profiles that continue to develop.

The next wave is already making an impact, as Biloxi integrates a large group of underclassmen into the varsity picture. Jace Miller (2029), Jesse McDevitt (2029), Meade Myers (2028), Joey Robinson (2028), Cayden Einhaus (2028), Anders Mitchell (2028), Broderick Andrews (2028), and Brody Morris (2028) represent a young core that adds long-term depth and competition throughout the roster.

With returning experience on the infield, multiple two-way contributors, and a deep pitching pool, Biloxi enters 2026 focused on turning depth into consistency. If the Indians can solidify roles on the mound and get steady production throughout the lineup, they have the pieces in place to take a step forward in a competitive 7A District 4.
