2026 OUTLOOK

+ Coming off a Sub State appearance, Knoxville Catholic enters the season with a clear strength on the mound and a wave of young talent ready to push the program forward under head coach Caleb Moore. The Irish may lean on their arms early and often, but there’s plenty of upside throughout the roster as this group continues to mature.

The pitching staff sets the tone. Carter Muth (2026, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy) headlines the returners and brings experience, poise, and the ability to shoulder big innings in key spots. Logan Tompkins (2027) provides another reliable option, while Connor York (2028) already looks the part of a high-impact underclassman arm with real projection. That trio gives Knoxville Catholic a strong foundation and flexibility throughout the week.

Beyond the rotation, there are several names trending up. DJ Lowery (2027), a former Future Gamer, adds athleticism and upside, and Rylan Jessee (2027) and Cole Scraggs (2027) continue to develop into dependable contributors. The Irish are also welcoming an influx of underclass talent including York, Davis Pitman (2028), Caiden Layman (2028), and a pair of 2029s in Quentin Cooper and Gabe Ronca — that should pay dividends as the season progresses.

With proven pitching at the top and a growing core behind it, Knoxville Catholic has the pieces to build momentum early and remain a tough out deep into the postseason once again.
