Today, we are going to introduce a new piece of content called the “Daily Round Up”. Here we will take a look at the games our scouts went to from the previous day and highlight key moments, standout players and our takeaways from the game.

Thursday

Starr’s Mill @ Ola

Score: Ola win, 3-2

Standouts:

Parker Williams, RHP, 2026, Starr’s Mill

Rece Leathers, 3B, 2026, Ola

Bryson Long, LHP/1B, 2026, Ola

Jacob Hogan, 3B, 2028, Starr’s Mill

Key Moments:

2028 2B Maddox Mothershed led off the game with a walk and would steal two bases, eventually coming around to put Starr’s Mill up 1-0 in the 1st. It was a strong start for both 2026 RHP Parker Williams and 2026 LHP Bryson Long as the bats were cold on both sides until the 3rd inning. A pair of singles from 2026 SS Daniel Mendez and 2026 3B Rece Leathers would have Ola threatening. 2026 1B Bryson Long helped himself out on the mound as he came through with a 2-RBI double to put Ola up 2-1. Leathers would add another RBI single in the 5th to stretch the Ola lead to 3-1. 2026 SS Brock Rein reached on an error in the 6th and eventually came around to score for Starr’s Mill to make it 3-2. Mendez slammed the door for Ola as they took the opening night win 3-2.

Avery’s Takeaway:

Both starters were up to the task as they both gave their respective clubs key innings. The Ola offense was powered by 2026 3B Rece Leathers (2 H, 2 RBI) and 2026 1B Bryson Long (2B, 2 RBI). 2028 3B Jacob Hogan showed an all-fields approach at the plate as he came through with 2-hits for Starr’s Mill. 2028 2B Maddox Mothershed showed well out of the lead-off spot. It was a quality 4A matchup to open the year as both squads look to be in the mix come late this Spring.

Parkview @ Blessed Trinity

Score: Blessed Trinity win, 11-1 in 5 innings

Standouts:

Aiden Pack, RHP, 2027, Blessed Trinity

Caden Dawson; OF, 2027, Blessed Trinity

Ryder Register, 2B, 2026, Blessed Trinity

Ty Page, 3B, 2028, Blessed Trinity

Key Moments:

A 9-run first inning that was highlighted by RBI knocks from Caden Dawson and Ryder Register set the tone early for the Titans.

Ian’s Takeaway:

Early season Top 5 matchups is what non-region play is all about but unfortunately costly errors and walks took the excitement out of this one early. Junior OF Caden Dawson swung it extremely well with a backside RBI 2B and just missing a long pull-side HR late. Uncommitted junior 2B Ryder Register and sophomore 3B Ty Page led the Titans with two hits a piece. Junior RHP Aiden Pack was outstanding with 6 K over 3.0 IP while showing a much improved CH to pair with the strong FB/CB combo. The top half of the lineup for Parkview took some quality swings including two barrels from Malachi Washington and first inning singles from Emani Ford and Joseph Mendez. Two huge wins for Blessed Trinity to open the year and the defending 4A state champions doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

Wesleyan @ GAC

Score: Wesleyan win, 3-2

Standouts:

Maddox McCollum, RHP, 2027, Wesleyan

Zach Koons, SS, 2028, GAC

Key Moments:

Senior Ryley Webb came through with the biggest swing of the night in a 2-2 game in the 8th inning to give the Wolves the lead. Dane Leutenegger then came in and shut the door in the 8th.

Hudson’s Takeaways:

It looked like the Wesleyan Wolves bats were going to be rolling from the start. They hit a lot of hard balls just right at guys. Credit to the GAC arm, Jack Wilson, he was able to settle in and attack the zone to force contact and good things happened. The Wesleyan line up is deep and there are power threats from 1-9. Maddox McCollum pitched a gem on the mound and was one of the more impressive arms I have seen this week, especially being his first start of the year. He velo held at 86-89 for 5 innings. There is a lot to like about this GAC line up. They have a lot of tough outs from top to bottom.
