February 10, 2026
As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Follow along as we take a deep dive into these players and highlight the summers they put together. Each week will feature our top five players based on each tool from the class, presented in no particular order.

Dunlap may have the toughest arsenal of any pitcher we saw in the 2027 class. We’ve seen his fastball up to 92 mph, and his two breaking balls are a major problem for hitters at this level. Opponents have to account for the velocity and spin of the heater, along with two distinctly different breaking pitches. Dunlap is a strong 5-foot-10, 200-pound strikeout arm on the mound.
We saw him in person at the Midwest Premier Super 17, where he showed all three pitches and left us feeling even better about his future at TCU. The fastball plays at 90–92, but the spin makes it feel heavy on hitters. When you pair that with a slider up to 85 and a curveball in the 76–80 range, hitters are forced to cover a lot of speeds and angles, which makes for a tough at-bat every time.
