Tennessee Diamond Notes: Week 2

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2026 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance.
Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 3
+ Braydn Stringer (UTL, Friendship Christian HS) turned in a strong two-way performance, going 7-for-14 with a double and a home run while also tossing six shutout innings with eight strikeouts.
+ Drew Hostetler (2026 OF, Siegel HS) had a monster week, hitting .722 (13-for-18) with a cycle and multiple extra-base hits, while also collecting a save with two scoreless innings on the mound.
+ DJ Lowery (UTL, Knoxville Catholic HS) filled up the stat sheet, going 10-for-19 with three home runs, nine RBIs, 12 runs scored, and seven stolen bases.
+ Rylan Jessee (UTL, Knoxville Catholic HS) stayed hot at the plate, going 11-for-20 with four doubles, two home runs, and 13 RBIs.
+ Logan Tompkins (RHP, Knoxville Catholic HS) delivered a dominant outing, throwing seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts.
+ Rhett Persell (UTL, Lincoln County HS) had an explosive week, hitting .538 with four home runs and a 2.186 OPS, driving in seven and scoring nine.
+ Canon Day (RHP, Houston HS) was electric, striking out 13 over six innings while allowing just one hit and one earned run.
+ Tucker Griffith (UTL, Mt. Juliet HS) produced at an elite level, hitting .647 with a 2.021 OPS, adding extra-base impact and five stolen bases.
+ Rishi Bhavaraju (RHP, Lausanne HS) earned the win with 6.2 scoreless innings and seven strikeouts, limiting hitters to five hits.
+ Bryson Johnson (UTL, Lake County HS) hit .454 with six RBIs and delivered a walk-off single, while also showing strong plate discipline with multiple walks.
+ Miles Watson (UTL, Alcoa HS) made the most of his at-bats, hitting .500 with two grand slams and nine RBIs.
+ Case Daly (UTL, Giles County HS) hit .417 with a .588 OBP while also earning a win on the mound with four innings and four strikeouts.
+ Rhett Hayes (UTL, Giles County HS) contributed across the board, hitting .350 with seven RBIs and three stolen bases while also logging five innings on the mound.
+ Drew McLemore (UTL, Giles County HS) produced offensively with a 1.102 OPS, eight RBIs, and extra-base power, while also throwing four innings on the mound.
+ Damarie Holt (RHP, Giles County HS) picked up a win, throwing five innings with six strikeouts while allowing limited damage.
+ Hudson Nivens (UTL, Giles County HS) hit .385 with eight runs scored, consistently getting on base and creating offense.
+ George Capps (RHP, Cumberland Gap HS) dominated in a short outing, throwing three no-hit innings with seven strikeouts.
+ Parker Free (C, Oak Ridge HS) had a productive week, going 7-for-17 with a home run and six RBIs.
+ Joseph Webb (UTL, Oak Ridge HS) went 6-for-10 with extra-base impact, scoring six runs and driving in three.
+ Mikee Teasley (RHP, Oak Ridge HS) was dominant, striking out 15 over five shutout innings while allowing just two hits.
+ Bowen Combs (UTL, Meigs County HS) hit .625 (5-for-8) with a home run and three RBIs, adding a stolen base and drawing walks.
+ Jackson Treece (UTL, Coalfield HS) went 8-for-13 with extra-base power, delivering a walk-off hit and also earning a win on the mound.
+ Jaxon Allen (RHP, Pigeon Forge HS) impressed as a two-way player, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts while also hitting .455 with seven stolen bases.
+ Brody Watson (UTL, Pigeon Forge HS) had a huge stretch, blasting four home runs while hitting .571 and extending his home run streak across multiple games.
+ Leff Louttit (UTL, Pigeon Forge HS) hit .455 with a home run and extra-base impact, contributing consistently to the offense.
