The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).

60 Yard Dash
The athlete's fastest 60-yard dash time in the given event year. Measured in seconds (s)

Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
Slider

shton Castillo is a physical 6-foot-2, 200-pound 2026 RHP with one of the more advanced breaking balls in the class. He runs the fastball up to 85 mph (sitting 84–85) with above-average spin metrics (2438 max, 2323 avg rpm). Castillo's calling card is a sharp, high-spin curveball that touches 2982 rpm and shows late depth. He complements it with a similarly tight slider at 75–76 mph (2649 max rpm) and a firm, sinker-ish changeup at 80–83 mph. With size, pitch data, and feel to spin, Castillo profiles as a high-upside arm to follow in the class.

While Castillo pitched at 83-85 with his fastball, his ability to spin two different plus breaking balls helped him carve through his two innings of work. The curveball is one of the better ones I've seen in regards to Indiana '26s, a two-plane offering at 72-74 mph that spun north of 3000 routinely, up into the 3100s a handful of times. The slider was spun with virtually the same velocity as the curveball, but he was able to manipulate shape with it for a true sweeper's profile (0" IVB, 11.7" HZ).

Ashton Castillo, Western High School (IN), 2026 Positional Profile: RHP/1B Body: 6-2, 185-pounds. Lean build. Delivery: Stretch primary delivery with a high leg kick leading to a tall balance point. Abv/avg shoulder separation in delivery with a slight tendency to pull off glove side at the release. Arm works very well however. Stride achieves decent distance down the slope. Tendency to land open. Exceptional ability to spin the ball. Arm Action: RH. Loose, fast arm action from a 3/4 slot. FB: T82, 80-82 mph. Straight FB with abv/avg spin rate. T2517, 2412 average rpm. CB: 71-72 mph. Very big glove side movement. Profiles as a Sweeper. Upper percentile spin rate. T2969, 2864 average rpm. SL: 73-74 mph. Similar movement profile as CB with sharper glove side cut. Abv/avg spin rate. T2773, 2633 average rpm. CH: 74-76 mph. Straight Fading CH. T1937, 1775 average rpm.
