RHP Justin Carpiniello (Olathe North, 2028) is a physical freshman that caught our eye on the mound from this event. At 5-foot-11, 200-pounds, Carpiniello showed a clean arm action with more to come with the addition of strength, throwing his fastball in the upper-70s to low-80s, topping out at 82.8 mph. His best secondary pitch at the moment looks to be his tight spinning curveball which tunneled well off of his fastball and showed swing and miss potential at 68-69 mph. He also turned over a low spin changeup at 70-71 mph with arm side fade.
