The recent Meridian Community College recruit had a massive day for Live Oak against Catholic BR in the rubber match of their three-game series last Saturday. After flying out in his first at-bat, he executed a sacrifice bunt in his second at-bat, which ended up leading to two runs for the Eagles in the bottom of the third inning. Allen then came to the plate in the bottom of the 4th inning with the bases loaded and one out. He fouled the first pitch off, before working the count back in his favor at 2-1, and belted a no-doubt grand slam to right field, which put Live Oak up 9-6. His final at-bat in the bottom of the 6th was just as impressive. A switch-hitter, Allen turned around to the right side and laid down a perfect drag bunt for a hit to finish the game 2-3 with the grand slam and 4 RBI's. Allen also made some really nice defensive plays at shortstop, which included a highlight reel diving stop with one in the 7th inning.
