Cape Cod: His Cape debut was delayed by LSU playing deep into June and winning a national title, but he made up for lost time by collecting seven hits in his first 14 at-bats with the Whitecaps. Though his pace slowed after that hot start—he batted .277 during the regular season—he showed why he could be a catalyst in the LSU lineup next season and a prospect with some helium. He generates real power from a quick, compact stroke. He’s not a burner, but he has enough speed to stick in the outfield and the arm to play right field.
