EMERSON, GA—The 2020 National Program Invitational kicked off Thursday at LakePoint Sports Community with 82 teams competing across four age levels. There will be much more in depth coverage after the event, but here are some highlights from Friday…

+ Team Elite Scout 17U came out hot in its first pool play game, dropping 17 runs on 5 Star Carolina National. LHP/OF Carter Holton (Benedictine Military Academy, GA) and SS Rob Gordon (Ben Franklin Academy, GA) led the charge with four RBIs apiece. Holton dropped two tanks, a three-run shot in the second inning and a solo one in the fourth.

During an 11-run eruption in the fifth, Gordon used his quick, loose hands to launch a grand slam to left field, one of his five hits across two games.
