We liked LaCoste back in the fall at our State Games event, but it was primarily due to his athletic delivery on the mound and mid-upper 80's heater. Last Friday, he was behind the dish for the Jaguars and provided a glimpse at his potential two-way ability. He took a good swing in his second at-bat to notch a pull-side single, but we really impressed with his arm behind the dish, as he showed plus arm strength with accuracy as well. LaCoste, along with teammate Rodriguez above, are definitely worth seeing this spring.

Positional Profile: RHP/C
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Athletic with strong lower-half.
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there throughout a repeatable delivery, strides slightly across body and hides ball well, finishes square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Clean arm swing with a 3/4 release.
FB: T88, 84-88 mph. Some arm-side run, control over command on this day. T2420, 2281 average rpm.
SL: 75-78 mph. Good feel for spin, can add and subtract as well as land for strikes. T2627, 2544 average rpm.
CH: 81-81 mph. Arm-side sink and run, showed good feel to both RHH and LHH. T2015, 2015 average rpm.
ATH: 7.57 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.18 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.

Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Athletic with strong lower-half.
Hit: RHH. Balanced and upright stance with hands held at shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride. Turns front shoulder slightly inward before his front foot strikes, works straight down to contact with level extension and a one-handed finish, hit off front foot some, hardest hit balls were on a line to the pull-side.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 76.1 mph. 321' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-78 mph. Short arm action with a 3/4 release.
Defense: 1.97-2.09 pop times. Worked from a one knee down stance, received with one hand before transferring with athletic footwork, throws had backspin and carry.
ATH: 7.57 runner in the 60. 1.80 and 4.18 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
