6'0" 185 lbs. durable frame. The Mississippi College recruit got the start in Game 3 last weekend against Catholic BR and although he probably didn't end up with the results that he wanted, he was still provided an interesting look and will be a key piece of Live Oak's rotation the rest of this year. Hodges worked his FB up to 90 mph and sat 86-88 mph for the entirety of his outing and the pitch flashed really good sink & run, especially when he stayed on-line. When he was in the zone, he made for an uncomfortable at-bat, especially for RHH's. His 75-77 mph SL showed some sweep, but he was unable to land it consistently for strikes. Still, the arm action/arm slot creates a difficult look for opposing hitters and Hodges has been really good for the Eagles during his career, so we fully expect a major bounce-back outing in Week 4.
