6/24/2014 5-foot-11, 170 pound strong athletic prospect. Showed a short arm action with good hands at third base, arm speed registered at 78 mph across the infield. Quick feet and hands allowed for a pop time of 1.99-2.07 behind the plate. Receives the ball well keeping pitches in the strike zone. Ran a 4.62 home to 1^st. Strong swing at the plate with some pop to the pull side, gets front foot down late creating some rush in his swing. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.

5-foot-11, 170 pounds with an athletic frame.  Best tool is his stick.  Using a balanced stance with short stride, Ackerman had one of the best rounds of BP at the All-State Showcase.  Consistently drove linedrives while hitting the ball where it is pitched.  Features good bat speed throughout a short, compact swing and projects a high contact rate.  Reached an 81 mph exit velocity.  Behind the plate, he displays good, quick footwork.  Throws through a 3/4 slot, while recording pop times splits between 2.07 and 2.19.  Topped out at 76 mph.  Also offers above average speed for the position, clocking in a 7.15 60 yard dash time.
