At seventh overall in this update, there’s an immense amount of upside on the mound with LHP Camron Poe (Christian Brothers College, 2023; Duke commit). The 6-foot-3, 200-pound southpaw exploded onto the scene at the 2021 PBR Future Games, emerging from the event as one of its’ top prospects and committing to Duke shortly afterward. Poe’s stuff is special when he’s synced up, pitching in the upper-80s with his fastball and climbing up into the 91-92 mph range on occasion, reaching as high as 93.5 mph in our looks. His bread-and-butter secondary is a firm upper-70s slider with swing-and-miss spin, and he’ll mix in a low-80s changeup occasionally, too. When he’s synced up and on time, Poe has some of the most impressive arsenals in this class.

Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 6-3, 200-pounds. Physical and projectable build.
Delivery: Works exclusively out of the stretch position. Works to a high balance point with a strong weight stack onto the back leg. Short sink into the lower half with strong push off the rubber. Works from the third base side of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound with good momentum headed towards the plate. Heavy body rotation off the plant leg at release. Clean hand break at the top of the delivery. Smooth pace and tempo and does a good job of maintaining balance throughout the delivery.
Arm Action: LH. 3/4 arm slot with a clean and loose arm action.
FB: T93.5, 89.7-93.1 mph. Good arm side running action with strong life through the zone. T2169, 2059 average rpm.
SL: 77.6-78.1 mph. Tight cutting shape with feel for spin and late action to the glove side. T2255, 2216 average rpm.
CH: 81.8-83.4 mph. Good fading action with fastball hand speed and some downward depth. T1738, 1605 average rpm.
Poe has a solid, athletic build at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Currently he is an outfielder and left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 7.09 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 88 mph. At the plate, athletic stance, simple weight shift load, negative movement with hands, leverages a firm front side, plus bat speed, produced hard contact to the middle and pull sides of the field. Defensively, smooth actions in the outfield, clean exchanges, momentum towards target, strong arm, positional velo of 88 mph with carry, accurate throws. On the mound, Poe has an athletic build, long limbs, projectable frame, easy delivery, directional towards the plate, quick arm, three-quarter release, repeats with downhill tilt, three pitch mix for strikes. Fastball sits 86-87 mph, will turnover a 2 seam with more movement at 85 mph, around the zone, curveball is 69-72 mph, flashes some depth, 1-to-7 shape, change to be a plus pitch as Poe develops, changeup is 76-77 mph with fade, thrown for strikes.
