Climbing considerably in this update after impressing over a few looks this year, C/RHP JD Dohrmann (Vianney, 2025) now sits at 14th overall. At 6-foot, 180-pounds, Dohrmann was a two-way standout at the Underclass Games, showing out as one of the top names in attendance. He creates backspin and loft to the pull-side from a long right-handed swing that should generate higher exit velocities as he tacks on strength to his frame. Dohrmann’s most valuable asset may be defensively, however, where he was arguably the day’s most impressive defensive catcher, popping at 1.94-to-2.02 with accuracy around the bag. He hopped on the mound later on and showed a clean operation, pitching in the low-80s with his fastball and spinning a low-70s breaking ball at a 2,400+ RPM average. Still on the market, Dohrmann is one of the top two-way talents in Missouri’s 2025 group.
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds.
Hit: Upright stance. Weight pre loaded onto back leg. Short stride. Bat speed. Strong, quick hands. Long, level swing. Pull side power.
Power: 85.6 max exit velocity, averaged 78.7 mph.
Arm: C - 75 mph. OF - 87 mph. OF: Long arm action, over-the-top slot. C: Quick release. Throws play with carry and accuracy.
Defense: 1.94-2.02 pop times. OF: Athletic footwork, efficient routes, directional transfer. C: Upright receiving position, feet work in line with the second base bag. Blocks the ball out front. Plays with confidence.
Run: 7.77 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Smooth, rhythmic tall/fall type delivery, controlled downhill, strong front side and works direct to target. Polished, repeats.
Arm Action: Continuous on the backside, loose with arm speed out front, clean high 3/4 slot.
FB: 80.4-82.6, T83.5 mph. Clean out the hand with more to come. Lively on occasion, jumps up in the zone when backspun. T2,156, 1,991 average rpm.
CB: 68.5-72.2 mph. Sharp spin off an 11/5 plane, spins at an above-average raw rate, too. One of the event's better breaking balls. T2,535, 2,402 average rpm.
CH: 72.1-74.5 mph. Kills lift with present arm-side run. T1,861 rpm.
