Physical- Lean, athletic, 5-foot-11, 180lbs frame with some twitch in the actions. 6.85 runner in the 60.
Offensively- Starts in an athletic position with bend in the knees and weight on his backside, hands out in front of his body. Simple, repeatable timing mechanism with a small leg lift while he loads hands back. Gets his hands on plane early and uses an uphill bat path with intent to lift present in the swing, evident by a Fly Ball % of 100% per Trackman. Does not get cheated in his swing and uses the lower half effectively. 92 MPH max exit velo.
Defensively- Traditional catcher's setup with an even, balanced base when receiving, soft hands. Stays in the same position when in throwing situations. Could clean up his transfers and time to release to complement an already strong throwing arm. Longer arm swing with a ¾ arm slot, he had a tendency to pull some balls to the third base side of second on his throw downs. 82 MPH arm from the crouch.
