Keeps the hands pushed back behind the ear with the barrel wrapped around his head. Keeps it simple with the load and just uses a small stride forward with a strong upper half to induce damage on the ball. Works an uphill swing with a top hand dominate swing, but primarily uses a strong upper and lower half to do the work. Smoked balls to the pull side with lift on almost every batted ball, registered a 96 MPH max exit velo. Behind the dish, Howlett sits somewhat high in his stance with a shoulder width base.
