60 Yard Dash: 7.63
Exit Velocity: 87
Positional Arm: 81
Stands 6-foot-1, 195-pounds. Smooth short load, short take away, High hands, Compact swing, Lower rotation, Balanced finish, Quick hands to the ball, Fluid bat path, 87 mph exit velo. Defensivley, stays behind the ball, aggressive, accurate throws with carry. Pitching - Solid body type with lower leg strength. Generates power with initial leg lift and drop/drive on back leg. Works to transfer weight to the front side at the landing point. Arm stays loose on seperation to the release point and finish. CB has large sweeping action and is a good mix of velo from his FB. Works well down in the zone keeping hitters honest. Movements stay simple from start to finish. Shows good prescence on the mound. Fastball peaked 82 mph sitting 79-81.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018) Stands 6-foot-1, 195-pounds from a solid built base, still more strength gains to come. In the box, wide stance, relaxed hands near his back shoulder, slight load for timing. Slight leg lift on the pitch with a stride, compact to the ball, full extension with an incline to his bath path. Shows pull-side power, and had an 84 mph exit velocity. Defensively, stays behind the ball, soft glove with choppy footwork. On the mound Van Bramer has made some serious improvements showing off his off-season hard work. Quick pace to his delivery, belt high knee lift, long stride, releases from almost an over-the-top slot. Fastball sat 80-81 (peaking 82) with late downward angle, arm-side tail. Curveball 66-71 with 12/6 shape, could use a touch more hand-speed. Overall, very impressive day for Van Bramer, as he has gotten better every event we have seen him, a true testament to his work-ethic.
