Comments
Ideal pitcher’s frame in the 6-foot-1 185 pound range. Sat low 80’s on a brisk afternoon. Able to work FB to both sides of the plate and rarely up in the zone. Spot and expanded with breaking ball.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Full bodied 6-foot-0 186 pound RHP/INF who ran a 7.55 60. Offensively- Sets up with an even, slightly spread stance with a quiet take back of the hands. Lower half works well and showed some punch through the middle of the field. Middle of the order type; 87 MPH exit velocity. Defensively- Listed as 2B but would project well at 3B with size, actions, foot speed, arm strength and offensive capabilities. Hands out in front with a low to the ground approach, covers lateral ground with long strides. Traditional 3/4 arm slot with carry at 81 MPH across the diamond. Pitching- Works predominately form the stretch. Comes set at the belt, driving leg up to his hands for his balance point. Works two different arm slots with the 3/4 slot having his FB sit 82-84 MPH while his sidearm delivery more in the 80-81 MPH range with sink. Traditional breaking ball shows more 1-to-7 shape with some late down action; side arm more slider like with a 2-to-8 feel, both at 66 MPH. Would like to see him more over the top of the drop down slider at release to allow for it to be thrown harder with more lateral action. Showed an over-the-top change at 76 MPH with some arm side fade. Potential dual prospect who offers some flexibility defensively and on the mound.
