Ryan Huban: 1B, (2027) CBA- Albany, NY. 6-foot-2, 250-pound mature projectable frame. Projectable and above average at the plate, Huban's 93 mph exit velocity ranks him 3rd at the event. (66.8 mph bat speed average). (20.8 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced wide stance with a controlled load, then used a small stride. Had an uphill loose swing plane, above average bat speed and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Capable projectable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 73 mph; has developing consistent feet, developing soft hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing athletically. Showed a high ¾ slot and consistent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a time of 8.4 in the 60-yard dash. Projectable on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a consistent arm action while showing developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher and used some effort. Balance point is tall with in line shoulders during delivery. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 72-73 mph; shows control arm side around the zone and running action. (Max spin 1770; Avg 1710). His changeup (69-70) has gradual fading action and arm side command. Has glove side occasional control and slurvey action on his slider (61-63). (Max spin ; Avg ).
Ryan Huban: 1B/RHP, (2027) out of Albany Academy, NY. is a physical 6-foot-1, 220-pound two-way prospect. At the plate, Huban had an impressive exit velocity of 88 mph. He begins in a balanced, athletic stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. He then uses a short stride to start a simple, flat swing that stays on plane. During his round, Huban showed a quick bat, loose hands and a gap to gap approach. In the infield, he was up to 70 mph on his throws across the diamond, while showing he has sure hands, smooth, consistent feet, and a clean exchange. During the event, he also recorded a 60 time of 8.85. On the mound, Huban used a long, high ¾ arm slot to produce a running fastball that sits 67-68 mph (Max spin 1711; Avg 1670). His delivery is easy, simple and direct. He uses small movements to get to a consistent balance point with the shoulders in line. He lands square with a clean finish. He has a sweeping slider (58-59 mph)(Max spin 1642; Avg 1635)..
Physical: 6-foot-1, 215 pounds; Sturdy, broad shouldered build. 8.49 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 88 MPH via Trackman. Showed some pop to the pull side. Very flat barrel path through the zone resulting in line drives.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; uses prep hop while sitting back. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 69 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Short take back while arm stays in line with 2B; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 71 MPH, while sitting 69-70 MPH; straight action. CB: 66-68 MPH; 11-5 shape.
