New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Marshall has a strong, athletic build, weighing 185 pounds and standing at 5-foot-11, 185 pounds. Runs an impressive 6.8-second 60 and plays 3B/OF/RHP. Offensively- Hands start at top of head and stand just wider than shoulder width. Marshall’s hands move smoothly to the back of the shoulder, but staying high. Toe taps towards back foot to create power and explodes through ball with a good stride. Hands are effectively level and quick to the ball, finishes long through the zone and just above the shoulders. Marshall’s 96 MPH exit velocity comes from the great use of hip and backside rotation. Defensively- Reads ball well in the outfield, using his strong frame and over the top release to throw 88 MPH. Clean transfer and violent follow-through. Pitching- throws from the stretch with hands starting just below the chin. Quick, belly-button high leg kick and uses strong outfield arm on the mound to finish firmly over his front leg. On balance after pitch is thrown and quick off the mound. FB sat 80-84 with CB at 68-70 MPH. Exciting dual prospect athlete that can play many positions.
May 2016
Hits for power and average; lightning quick hands; displays patience at the plate; keeps bat through the zone long. Home to first time clocked at sub-4. Uses speed in outfield where he takes aggressive paths to the ball. Smooth, easy and quick transfer from glove to hand. Strong arm from the outfield.
