During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 89 mph, showing his ability to drive the ball with power. Began in a balanced stance with a small load, then used a controlled stride before his swing. Has simple swing plane, raw bat speed and level finish. Found lots of barrels during his round. Pull side approach. While catching, he had a pop time of 2.10-2.20, throw downs to second topped out at 72 mph; has quick feet, a natural exchange and sure hands. Some flexibility and wide setup.Used a short arm action with an-over-the-top slot while showing decent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a 60 time of 7.51 at the event.
Demonstrated feel for a strong 5-foot-8, 180-pound frame with present physicality and some fluidity in his movements. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, even setup utilizing a controlled leg-hang to initiate his swing. A load at the ear coupled with a strong lower half allowed for some easy bat-speed through a slightly uphill path generating backspin to the pull-side gap. Registered an 88 mph bat-exit velocity using a simple, repeatable swing with loud pop out in front of the plate. Recorded a 7.29 60-yard dash. The primary catcher displayed advanced receiving skills with a fluid glove hand. Demonstrated adequate transfers on pop times ranging from 2.08-2.22. A short, high ¾ arm-slot with solid straight line footwork allowed for accurate 74 mph throws from the crouch. Showcased advanced blocking skills creating soft shields on both sides of the plate with athleticism in his actions.
