On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled tempo and old school delivery bringing his hands over his head before a high leg kick and gliding to the dish, finishing balanced. Arm action has length in the back with a quick change of direction at the bottom of his arm stroke before coming through an over the top slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 70-71 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball shows near 12/6 shape with gradual depth at 64-66 mph. Changeup has consistent fade and sink at 68-69 mph, mostly strikes.

Curveball has 11/5 shape and flashes depth at 63-65mph. Changeup has some fade, 63 mph. Though Josh had trouble repeating his release point during his outing, he is sure to continue to grow and get better.

Slider shows 11/5 shape 70-71 mph, occasional depth. Changeup has fade at 64-65 mph. In game, showed developing command.

Arm action has moderate length, coming to t brief pause before coming through a high-¾ arm slot with some recoil. Fastball shows some downhill tilt, some strikes, 74-77 mph. Curveball shows average spin with 11/5 shape, some misses to the arm side. Shows some command of the changeup, 69-70 mph, keeps its plane. Overall, McNeil will likely get more out of his quick arm down the road.

Defensively, shows deliberate feet with above average hands, throws from multiple arms slots with ease, some arm strength, and some accuracy, 80 mph.

Arm action is moderate in the back coming to a slight pause at the bottom of the arm stroke before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 73-75 mph with some arm-side run. Curveball has short 11/5 shape at 65-66 mph. Changeup is still developing at 66-67 mph. In the game, McNeil gave up a big hit to his first batter then retired the last three, striking out the last two.
