2027 OF/LHP Jayden Simpson continues to flash two-way potential as the JFG alum is one of the better prospects in the 2027 class. The 5-foot-9, 145-pound prospect from the HPP Tigers has the actions and clean movements in all areas of his game with a smooth left-handed stroke that headlines his hit tool. Simpson put together a peak exit velocity of 88.1mph and peak distance of 253ft. He was also up to 85mph from the outfield and ran a 3.93 30-yard dash. On the mound, the left-hander filled up the zone with a fastball at 78-80mph, along with a slider at 68-70mph and changeup at 70-71mph. Tons to like in his game already and added strength going forward will take his game to new levels with added impact.
Simpson was the top hitter on Prep Baseball National 15U collecting multiple hits all week long, highlighted by a back-side 3-run HR to cut the Team Alberta lead to 8-5 in the 7th inning of Game 1. The bat-to-ball skills show up in-game with a consistent approach AB after AB, as well as causing havoc on the base paths with multiple stolen bases and aggressive base running. Simpson is a 2027 prospect to keep close eyes on over the next couple of years as he continues to develop his body and game.
