Ranked the number one backstop in his class, an attendee of the Future Games in 2018, returning for his second straight ProCase. 5-foot-11,170-pound, small frame, slopped shoulders, physical development to come. Displayed his ability at the FGT’s, turned in 2.03-2.12 pop-times, with 75 mph arm strength behind the plate, sound all-around defensive actions. At the plate, there’s bat speed and aggression towards the baseball, two-hand finish keeps him controlled and allows his line-drive approach with pull-side direction to work well. Just a sophomore in high school, the glove and arm are currently ahead of the bat, but in all bright future ahead for the left-handed hitting Gomm.
Gomm is a young 2021 left-handed hitting catcher with athleticism that plays on both sides of the ball. Hard nose gamer who gets after it, line drive approach at the plate who barrels up balls and can also surprise some with the pop he can generate. Gets himself into a good hitting position, stays through the ball and works gap to gap. Runs the bases well and ran a 7.44 sixty this summer. Defensively, moves well, quick feet behind the plate to go along with arm strength at 79 mph. Like the look of Gomm and should be a household name here in Ontario for some time.
