2026 RHP Max Lafflame is an arm who’s jumped onto the radar this preseason and will take the mound next week for Prep Baseball Canada at the Best of the West Tournament in Kamloops, BC. Large frame with broad shoulders at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds and moves well down the hill with a simple, repeatable delivery that allows him to fill up the strike zone. The fastball sat 83-85mph and it’s a vertical shape with 16.1” IVB/6.6” HM. The Ajax Elite right-hander has the ability to locate the curveball at 71-72mph and nearly 2400rpm spin. He also featured a high-spin slider at 75-78 (2550+) and changeup at 75-76mph. Another good showing from Lafflame and our staff is eager to see him work in live-game action in Kamloops.

An imposing frame at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds with more room to add strength. Laflamme put together a solid day on the bump posting a fastball velocity that sat in the 83-85 mph range with a 2250+ spin rate to boot. The kid can truly spin it, indubitably, manufacturing a 2480+ average spin rate on the breaking ball, and a 2600+ on the slider. There’s some fluidity in the operation and with some adjustments the velocity should continue to tick up. Max will be a name to keep tabs on as we head into the summer circuit.
