James Burchfield, Ryan (TX), 2026
Positional Profile: 1B/OF LHH/OF/1B Solid build/frame to add increased strength. Speed will firm. Defensively will be steady at 1st. Moves well on baseball field, ability to play OF is there. Can impact baseball, solid bat/power combo. LHH hitter with power, defensively will have versatility. Damage at plate.
Body: 5-11, 195-pounds. Solid build/frame. Width to shoulder and back. Thickness/strength to lower.
Hit: LHH. Rotational back showing some linear movement forward. Foot lifts off ground up, drive back foot forward with linear movement, keeping lower to ground. Hits into firm front leg, posture laid back slightly at contact, uphill swing path created, driving foot forward more will help posture. Stride foot stays into ground, nice job of hitting from ground up. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Takes solid path to hit zone with both. Bat/hand speed present along with bat strength. 79.5 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 105 max exit velocity, averaged 96.8 mph. 417' max distance. Solid bat/power combo with ability to impact baseball. Hit tool will firm with adjustments.
Arm: LH. INF-79 mph. Arm works, carry to throws, stay behind baseball to eliminate tail action to throws.
Defense: 1st base…moves well coming off bag, breaks down to field, hands in good position. Behind bag, feet work to baseball, firm ability to play thru baseball with feet.
ATH: 7.14 runner in the 60. 1.67 and 3.93 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Solid start, uprigth runner last 30 yards. Develop slight lean forward with head and shoulders. Chance to develop into 7.0 runner. 21.00 max vertical.
Vizual Edge: 61.46 Edge Score

1/03/26
Solid, strong build with room for additional strength. Ran a 7.14 60 and shows steady defensive ability both in the outfield and at first base. Offensive upside stands out - consistently produces hard contact with exit velocities over 105 mph, showing the ability to leave the yard to all fields. Power is the carrying tool at present, with multiple balls driven deep with height and carry. Hit approach can continue to refine, but the raw power is real.
