Positional Profile: SS/2B RHH/INF will add needed strength in future. Project avg to fringe avg runner in future, speed will increase with added strength and maturity. Actions present on defense, will continue to develop as infielder, versatility present. Solid bat/power combo in future with adjustments. Player who will continue to develop, upside.
Body: 6-0, 171-pounds. Solid build/frame to add strength. Width to shoulders and back, showing some lower strength now.
Hit: RHH. Knee lift stride, rotational back foot, gets fully turned and on time. Drive back foot forward increasing use of lower 1/2 in swing, presently back foot does not drive forward. Hits into firm front leg. Stride leg stays into ground, hit from ground up. Hips sit back at contact, driving back foot forward will drive hips forward leading to improved posture at contact. With stride, back elbow pushes back creating barrel tip over head causing length to swing. Length to swing also created by hands casting slightly out. Barrel works down and around. Work to take hands on direct path to baseball, working the inside line of batters box. Front shoulder flys open, pull hands out of zone. Working hands on direct path will help with keeping front shoulder closed. Also, when hitting off tee/BP swings think less is more with front 1/2 of body, back 1/2 of body use more is better.
Power: 98 max exit velocity, averaged 89.0 mph. 344' max distance. Solid bat/power combo in future, shows nice ability to barrel baseball at times now. Adjustments to hit approach and swing will firm contact consistency and impact.
Arm: RH. INF-81 mph. Arm works fine, shows ability to throw from angles when on the move. Carry will develop. Recommend long toss program to increase raw arm speed and raw arm strength.
Defense: Actions present. Feet work well getting to baseball and setting to field. Solid hands, fields baseball out front with glove in good position.
ATH: 7.34 runner in the 60. 1.67 and 4.00 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Nice start. Shows lean forward when running. Short stride, work to lengthen stride some. Speed can increase, chance can develop in fringe avg to avg runner in future. 22.00 max vertical.
