Mauer has an athletic frame with some twitch to his actions. Versatile defender in center field and displays the athleticism, actions, and arm strength to be able to move around the field. At the plate it is a square stance, small lift to stride, and hands separate on load. Level path swing with line drive tendency. Worked a six pitch at bat to start the fourth inning. The at bat finished with a single to right field and Mauer would later score to put Nelson County on the board. Mauer is a Ferrum commit.
