Is a steady defender on the infield, likely profiling as a 2B/3B, he showed the ability to athletically turn the double play, soft, reliant hands, and a carryable arm at times. Offensively, Davidson showed the same repeatable left-handed stroke we’ve seen from him in the past - one that’s consistently hit in-game and helped lead St. Joseph to the D3 state championship last summer. He worked line drives off the barrel throughout BP and efficiently stayed on-plane throughout. Davidson appears to have improved his athleticism throughout the off-season as well, dropping his 60-yard dash time nearly a full half-second since we saw him in the summer, running a 6.96 this past weekend.
Davidson is a compact athlete in a sturdy 5-foot-9, 175-pound build. His left-handed bat is loose with a feel to use the whole field, and he reached a 90.2 mph high off the bat in BP. He looked smoother on defense, too, and added some arm strength over the offseason.
Positional Profile: 3B/2B
Body: 5-8, 165-pounds. Strength in lower half.
Hit: LHH. Relaxed, open setup, comfortable look in the box, smooth load and stride works to even. Loose, easy swing, fluid rhythm, hands stay inside the baseball at times, gap-to-gap approach. Among the day's most consistently on-plane swings, per Blast.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. 90.3 max exit speed and max distance of 336 feet, via TrackMan during BP. Max bat speed of 72.2 mph via Blast.
Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Short, loose arm action, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.28-2.41 pop times. Clean actions, steady hands, plays through the baseball, clean release.
Run: 7.62 runner in the 60.
He was one of the most productive bats at our 15U at The Rock tournament a few weeks ago, and he’s here in Mauston to keep that title. He tallied two more knocks and was constantly on the barrel. Hit the ball hard all weekend. At shortstop, Davidson had multiple assists and also showcased his ability to work the back hand. Has a slightly open stance, can consistently load on time and has little difficulty adjusting speeds. Makes hard contact every time with a natural feel for the barrel.
Positional Profile: 3B/C
Body: 5-8, 165-pounds. Some strength in frame; stout lower half.
Hit: LH. Balanced/athletic setup, confident approach. Weight-shift load back, small knee lift/hang, syncs up timing. Long bat path off an uphill plane with some barrel feel.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity from the tee. Makes the most of his lofted contact; topped 335 feet in live BP, per TrackMan, that left the bat at 88.6 mph.
Arm: RH. C - 63 mph. INF - 78 mph. Short throws from a high 3/4 slot; throws more loosely on the infield.
Defense: Fluid actions, at a deliberate tempo behind the plate. Currently projects best on the infield, more natural infield actions; hands play soft.
Run: 7.71 runner in the 60.
5-foot-8, 165-pound frame with a strong lower half. Left-handed hitting infielder that hit out of the three-hole for Kenosha Braves. Balanced setup at the plate, fluid pre-pitch rhythm, smooth load, slight leg lift trigger. Loose at the plate, quick hands, raw bat strength, uphill path with a pull-side approach. Showed a knack for finding the barrel, found the barrel in nearly every at-bat. One of the top overall offensive performers of the weekend, going 9-for-13 with 11 RBIs.
