Fisher, a Notre Dame recruit, was nothing short of sensational throughout the week, and walked away with MVP honors at the event. Noticeably stronger, but still showcasing the same athleticism, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound infielder looked his usual self defensively, making every play look easy no matter what spot he patrolled. However, it was the bat that ticked up in this look, and he confidently went 7-for-13 with multiple extra base hits including a home run. He possesses quick hands with a flat path that includes the ability to utilize the whole field. His energy on the diamond was infectious all week.
Fisher’s status as a top prospect in the Midwest’s 2023 class is well documented, and he flashed those skills throughout the weekend with his GRB Rays squad. Fisher jumped all over a firm upper-80s fastball for an opposite field triple on Saturday, flying around the base paths in the process. He’s a savvy, sure-handed defender on the infield dirt that’ll stick up the middle in the long run, too. Fisher is currently the third-highest ranked prospect in Wisconsin’s incoming senior group and he’s committed to Notre Dame.
Notre Dame commit, currently ranked No. 77 in the overall rankings. Presently strong and athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 185-pounds. Right-handed hitting shortstop was playing up throughout the weekend with some of the top 2021 talent across the Midwest and fit right in. Highly-athletic defender, ranges well and plays with advanced body control. Made a highlight reel play ranging to his glove-side on Saturday afternoon that was well beyond his years. Offensively, right-handed hitter, confident and poised in the box; handles velocity with ease. Numerous confident, intentful swings, looks to drive the baseball, strong hands, creates leverage with feel for the barrel; middle-of-the-order type. Another high-level shortstop to know coming out of Wisconsin.
Verbally committed to Notre Dame.
5-foot-10, 155-pound projectable frame. 2023 grad playing against 2022s. Leadoff hitter. At the plate, hits from a tall and balanced setup, leg kick stride, hands fall back into load, short and compact swing. Has an advanced approach at the plate and feel for the barrel, finding it in all 3 plate appearances. Consistent hard contact. Finished 2-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in an 9-1 win over Top Tier North. Gap-to-gap hitter with power potential. In the field, showed natural actions at the shortstop position. Started a 6-3 triple play.
5-foot-10, 155-pound shortstop. One of the better right-handed hitters in the state’s class. Balanced approach, loose hands, barrel aware. Ball jumps off the bat at contact, gap to gap approach. Went 2-for-3 in game vs. Lou Collier/DBA with two plus contacts off the bat. High baseball IQ, gets excellent reads on the basepaths. Arm carries well across the diamond, easy defender, showed well on the infield.
(Junior Future Games) - 5-foot-10, 155-pound, right-handed hitting, multi-positional player, athletic frame. Defensively, ran balls down in CF with ease, accurate throws from the outfield, ball comes out of hand easy. Agile feet at shortstop, ranges well to both sides, short arm, high ¾ slot, 77 mph across the diamond. Offensively, level bat path, simple approach, direct to the baseball, back spins off the barrel in game, confident hitter, exit velocity topped 84 mph off a tee. Laced a two-run double down the opposite field line, can run the bases.
5-foot-9, 150-pound shortstop, athletic shape, above average strength for age. Right-handed hitter, tall setup, slightly open stance, long stride, good balance. Path is level, line drive approach, works the middle of the field, hard contact at times, above average bat speed. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed actions through the baseball, athletic feet, soft hands. Strong arm, short loose action, high ¾ slot, 78 mph across the diamond. 7.64 runner in the 60. On the mound fastball is straight and shows feel for the zone, 76-77 mph, touched 79 mph. Knuckleball at 66-69 mph. Changeup fades, 66-70 mph.
