Fr. RHP Ethan Engelbrecht (Oak Creek, WI) is a physical right-hander with a 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame. He has a controlled tempo on the mound with a high leg-kick into a slight tuck, drop/drive lower-half stays in-line to the plate, longer arm swing into a ¾ release. His fastball sat around 84-86 mph, topping out at 87 mph with run and finish through the zone. He showed both a curveball and a slider, with the curve playing more over the top at 71-73 mph and the slider showing tighter shape with depth at 73-76 mph. He featured a splitter in the 76-78 mph range, killing spin and playing mostly straight. His final offering was a cutter in the 79-81 mph range with a short wrinkle and lateral action.
Engelbrecht is an upside arm with a 6-foot-4, 230 pound frame with strength and power to the delivery. Engelbrecht gets moving down hill with a loose and whippy arm. His fastball sat 86 mph throughout the bullpen with late running action through the zone. The slider, 72-75 mph has shorter two plane breaking action at the plate and pairs well with the fastball that moves in the opposite direction. His split has depth and late run at the plate giving him three pitches to use in his repertoire to get hitters out.
