Coming off of a WIAA State Tournament appearance in mid-June, strutted his stuff at The Rock on Tuesday. At a long and lanky 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame, Hunley flashes projectability and room to fill out. His bat had the highest on-plane efficiency in the 2023 class at 92, which helped him succeed in the game later on in the day. Hunley went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in the game, leading all players in hits. After a strong prep season at Sun Prairie and a successful showcase, Hunley came out as one of the main winners from the 2023 class on Tuesday.

Body: 6-3, 170-pounds. Wiry/projetable frame, long-limbs with a high waist.
Delivery: Slight drop and drive style delivery, works online with direction, squared landing.

Hit: RHH. Balanced, slightly crouched setup. Quick load. Aggressive foot strike. Short to impact, knob to the ball. Works an inside track. Stays through impact. Feel for his hands, feel for his barrel. Middle of the field mostly with line drives.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 81.7 mph. 301’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 79 mph.
Defense: Head down through fielding position, hands work out front, fluid footworklong actions at times, all around athletic.

Hunley has a long-levered 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame with lots of room to fill out, and he was still able to coordinate his long levers well, good enough for a 7.00 flat in the 60. In the right-handed box, out of a balanced and crouched setup, Hunley triggered knob-to-ball and stayed on an inside track to the impact window. Hunley possesses feel for his hands and barrel at 71 mph barrel speed, while recording projectable exit speeds up to 90.0 mph.
Hunley took a big step forward with the bat on Sunday. He’s a projectable 6-foot-2, 162-pound infielder and he drove repeated hard contact back up the box. His upside swing is loose with well-above-average bat speed, and he controls his extra-long levers well, adding to the follow upside he brings to the diamond.
The lanky and athletic 6-foot-2, 162-pound prospect has some two-way upside, but he showed especially well from the mound this weekend. While living in mostly the upper-70s in his dominant start against PTA Cardinal, touching 82, Hunley mixed in a sharp breaking ball, 70-71, that looks like a future outpitch. Hunley went the distance against PTA Cardinal, allowing only four hits and one earned run over seven innings of work. He also showed excellent control, locating almost 69 percent of his pitches for strikes. Athleticism, size, and a loose/quick arm has him as a follow inside this class.
Started on the mound for GRB Rays on Sunday against Indiana Bulls. Pitched 6 innings -- 3 strikeouts, 2 walks, 1 earned run, and 4 hits. Tall, lanky frame. Has a high ¾ arm slot, with short, loose action. Fastball showed run action and ranged from 73-75 mph, topped at 76 mph. Curveball had a sharp 11/5 shape and sat between 65-69 mph.
