As of today's date (7/25), LHP Jared Lessman (St. Croix Falls) is the top-ranked player in the state's 2021 class without a commitment. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound lefty utilizes a deceptive fastball made even more special for its spin rate traits, which ranged from 2,400 to 2,500 rpm, according to our radar gun, at 85-87 mph. Lessman is also able to spin a tight, sharp breaking ball at 70-73 mph, which has real out-pitch potential. He's added some size since he was a member of last year's Team Wisconsin roster at the 2019 PBR Future Games, and he's clearly using it well from the rubber.
Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 6-foot, 170-pounds.
Delivery: Drop/drive delivery, easy effort, works from 1B side, toe up to balance point, creates angle and some rhythm.
Arm Action: LH. Short and loose arm action, high 3/4 slot, quick arm speed.
FB: T87, 83-86 mph. Sneaky fastball with slight arm side run.
CB: 61-62 mph. 2/8 shape, sweeping action.
5-foot-9, 150-pound left-handed hitting pitcher. Young frame with loose arm action. Slight cocked arm action on backside and is clean and loose out front. Interesting follow prospect in 2021 class. Fastball was 77-79 mph, shows life through zone, with arm-side run to plate. Avg. shape on 1/7 breaking ball that flashes depth. Late arm-side fade on changeup and should develop into a swing and miss pitch.
