At 5-foot-6, 135-pounds, Guardiola has a smaller frame for his age, but certainly plays like anything but. The shortstop was featured throughout the weekend barreling balls and showed a knock for getting on base, however that may have been. At the top of the MBA lineup that reached the weekend’s final game, Guardiola showed up when his team needed it. Despite the eventual loss, Guardiola went 2-for-4 with two RBIs on Friday and hit a timely triple in Sunday’s championship game. The two examples of his play sum up what he was capable of showing as the slappy, undersized, middle infielder made a name for himself this past weekend.
