Schulz creates deception and makes for an uncomfortable at-bat from his delivery, utilizing his long 6-foot-4, 170-pound levers to jump on opposing bats. He releases the ball from ¾ slot and pumped a straight fastball into the upper quadrants of the zone at 83-84 mph. His best secondary in this look was a 74-75 mph slider with tight bullet spin and occasional late action off a lateral plane. Schulz is a name that has performed in front of our staff multiple times and we’re excited to see him again this spring on a quality Westosha Central squad.

Schulz has pitched in front of our staff myriad times this year – between the spring and fall – and each time he appears to limit contact from a unique delivery that throws opposing hitters off. Schulz has long, lanky levers, at 6-foot-4, 165 pounds, and his size and unorthodox movement down the mound work together to earn consistent swings and misses. He’s been up into the mid-80s for us, but he sat in the 82-83 mph range at The Rock, with a sweeping breaking ball that earns chases regularly.
At our PBR at The Rock Championships, the lean 6-foot-4, 165-pound right-hander, threw a complete game shutout with six strikeouts, two hits and walked two. Schulz threw 64 percent strikes on 83 pitches. Working from a long, wing arm action and a ¾ slot, Schulz commanded the zone with a four seam fastball that flashed arm-side run at times sitting 80-81 mph. Complementing the fastball was a 10/4 slider with sharp break at times down in the zone, sitting 71-72 mph.
