A sturdy/strong 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Anderson uses his build well from the mound, attacking the zone with a fastball that was up to 86 mph with a little arm-side action. No question, Anderson's frisbee-type slider is what helps him earn his swings and misses, at 72-75 mph. The Hudson righty still has some arm strength to unlock, and it'll be interesting to see him develop into his senior season.
Positional Profile: RHP/C
Body: 6-foot-1, 196-pounds. Athletic, well-proportioned build, looks the part.
Hit: RHH. Crouched, athletic setup, starts loaded on back leg, quick leg kick trigger, slight drop in hands, short stride. Clear bat speed, fast hands, bat travels in a long, uphill path through the zone, loud contact, aggressive hacks.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF - 85 mph. Short, loose arm action, over-the-top slot, clear arm strength, throws produced carry.
Defense: Hands work under center, active feet, athletic body control.
Run: 7.72 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Feet start wide across rubber, rocker step initiates delivery, drop/drive type, front side flies open, lands square, athletic finish, throws with some effort.
Arm Action: RH. Short, loose arm action, over-the-top slot, clear arm strength.
FB: T86, 81-85 mph. Played straight; four-seam type.
CB: 70-72 mph. 11/5 shape, gradual action.
SL: 72-74 mph. 11/5 shape, gradual action.
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher with a strong, athletic build, projection. Wide set, deliberate side rock into knee and hip turn, drop and drive, closed shoulder with high front, lands closed. Compact arm circle, high ¾ slot, arm speed is quick out front, loose. Fastball, straight, some jump from hand, 80-82 mph. Slider, aggressive, maintains arm speed, drops arm slot, 10/4 action with early break, 68-70 mph. Knuckleball, flashed late action, some feel, thrown at arm speed, changeup-like, 67-73 mph.
