Peterson showed a jump in velocity since seeing him last summer in tournament action. Peterson is a long levered southpaw at 6-foot, 180 pounds with a quick arm that generated a lively 84-87 mph fastball. He’s got a convincing breaking ball as well, 72-75 mph, spinning in the 2,200-2,300 rpm range.
At our PBR Badger State Battle, Peterson was locked in on the mound throwing 68 percent strikes on 106 pitches for Edge Baseball in their game against STiKS Red. The 5-foot-10, 145-pounds left-handed pitcher picked up a no decision going six innings. Peterson allowed two earned runs on seven hits, no walks and struck out thirteen. Peterson commanded the zone with a two seam fastball sitting 78-80 mph throughout his outing. Peterson worked with a curveball with true 12/6 action at times, sitting 58-59 mph.
5-foot-10, 145-pound left handed pitcher. Sunday night Peterson pitched four strong innings for Edge Baseball in their game against Illinois Steel. Peterson did not allow a hit in four innings, though did give up one earned run, while he struck out five, walked eight. Peterson fastball sat 70-72 mph, with a curveball and changeup to help complement this fastball.
