RHP Braden Bothe (Campbellsport, WI) is an upside freshman for the Bobcats standing at a long levered and lean 6-foot-5, 150-pound frame with significant room for strength and physical development. Showing feel to sync up his levers and delivery consistently throughout his ‘pen, compact mover with slight extension down the mound, the arm works clean and uninterrupted from a ¾ slot with arm speed. Showed feel for four pitches throughout the ‘pen, the fastball sat 83-84 mph with running action throughout. Two breaking balls, the slider sat 70-73 with big sweeping action averaging -22.4” of HM with a 2,313 avg spin rate. The curveball sat in the same velo bucket at 70-73 with big two-plane action with an average spin rate of 2,489 rpms. Rounding off his arsenal Bothe showed a heavy fading changeup at 75-79 mph flashing heavy fading action averaging 18” of HM.
