Benjamin Gudoy, Francis Parker, 2025
Positional Profile: OF
Body: 5-10/160lbs. Medium frame. Lean athletic build. Room to fill/add.
Defense: Athletic OF. Light/quick feet. Gets to his spots with good reads/jumps. Displays early with clean funnel
Arm: RH. OF - 83. Short arm action. Easy effort. â…˜ accurate 1-hop throws to the bag. Quick to release. Outfield assist in-game.
Hit: LHH. Smooth LH stroke. Slightly open stance with higher set loose hands. Nautral rhythm in load. Quick hands. Easy bat speed. Slight uphill path. Balanced throughout. Present barrel accuracy. Whole field approach in BP. Flashed some pullside power with a couple off the RF wall in BP. Hard knock up the box in game.
2022 FUTURE GAMES: Gudoy quietly turned in one of best ‘25 performances on a stacked Team California squad that is sure to be a team that we look back and reminisce on. Unassuming at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds, the left-handed hitting outfielder showcased a sweet stroke in workouts before carrying it over into game play with some success. Starting higher with the hands before flowing into a natural hitting position, there is quickness created with some minor uphill intent, and an innate ability to work short-to-long through the zone should ultimately allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Slowing the game down against some talented arms, Gudoy tracked well at the plate, and should have a chance to keep trending up in coming years.
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Physical: 5-10, 155-pounds; Athletic, proportional build. 7.27 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; flat bat to start. Drops hands on the way back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Drifts into contact while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with two handed finish. More line drives than fly balls and ground balls with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Equal % of GBs/LDs/GBs (33.3), fairly compact with ability to use whole field and make adjustments to different locations, looks the part of a hitter w/ability to hit for average and extra base pop.
Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while showing active feet. Hands are off to the side with a delay in transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. OF - 84 MPH. Light feet, some tailing action on throws, clean angles with calm demeanor and approach to ball.
Pitching: Uses an arm side setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 80 MPH, while sitting 79-80 MPH; arm side run with sink. CB: 67-69 MPH; lands for strikes. CH: 70-72 MPH; fading action. Feel of three pitches, repeatable delivery, works confidently, pitch movement patterns play well off each other, a 2025 to keep an eye on.
