Event: Future Games Tryout: NorCal
Positional Profile: RHP
Physical: 6-4, 170-pounds; Imposing, extremely long and projectable.
Delivery: Kneelift to the waist with a long stride down the mound. Really lets the arm travel out front.
Arm Action: Varied from a low 3/4 to sidearm release. Separates at the chest. At times the arm lag behind the body. Gets good extension.
FB: T86.3 mph, 84.6 - 86.2 mph range, 1884 avg spin; Had nice sink when he dropped the arm slot. Gets on the hitter fast. Explodes out of the hand.
SL: 72.3 - 74.8 mph, 2269 avg spin; Sharp, wipeout slider with two strikes. Plus swing and miss pitch. Can throw it for strikes.
CH: 74-75 mph, 1567 avg spin; Delivery remains consistent. Works well off the FB. Nice, late fade.
NorCal Underclass Game - Young and talented with stuff, body (6-foot-3, 160-lbs), approach, feel, and confidence that all suggest a bright future and high ceiling. FB topped at 82 mph w/consistent 80-81 mph range (2025 max spin). Quick arm w/6.1' average extension which speaks to the effective/perceived velocity he will develop. Willing to throw FB or SL in any count, used SL (66-69 mph, 2190 max spin) quite effectively as an out pitch.
