The senior UCLA commit didn’t take long to show what the hype was about. In his first AB, he drove a heater deep to left off the top of the wall. He was able to catch the ball out front and stay extended through the ball. His ability to get extension provided for some pop off the bat, backing up his 7 extra base hits and 3 bombs on the year. He also displayed his level swing hitting two hard grounders the other way and picking up an opposite field single on one. Cadiz had good rhythm in his swing, with a toe tap that kept him on time. Standing 6 '2'’ 200 lbs, he was able to stay balanced in his lower half and use his bigger frame efficiently.

The top returning offensive piece for the Knights Cadiz is a highly talented RH hitter who shows feel to hit with hard impact showing real power when he elevates to the pull side. Cadiz is just as willing to stay on an outer half offering to drill the ball to RF as showcased in game with a rocket single that way in game and willingness to stay back in 2K counts to use that side of the field. But, he has the bat speed and strength to cut loose an aggressive swing to do damage towards the middle/pull side of the field (he launched an impressive foul drive down the LF line). For me it’s a hitterish approach that attacks offerings within the strike zone, but he controls the zone well, laying off pitches outside the zone with willingness to take walks when pitchers aren’t willing to challenge him within the zone.
