This was my first extended look at Terrill, after a brief look during the later portion of 2025 in a winter scrimmage for the Bulldogs against Royal. The multiple at-bats and multiple defensive plays at 3B were an impressive display of the present abilities for the rising sophomore, but even more a testament to his upside as a younger player seeing his first year of varsity action. The swing operation for Terrill is simple and compact with a balanced load, consistency to reach launch on time while keeping his hands back in a good position to uncork a compact/direct hand-barrel path geared to line solid contact to the middle of the field, which Terrill did all game long. Facing a pair of LHPs from San Marcos, who mixed a trio of offerings, did not faze Terrill, hitting out of the leadoff spot, collecting two hits while staying on the barrel at contact across all four of his at-bats. The first at bat of the day was the deepest count for Terrill as he got to 2-1 before punching a solid single through the middle of the field on a FB from the Royals starter. From there, he blistered a pair of solid line drives on first or second pitch offerings to the LF and CF, but both were for naught as they resulted in a L-7 and L-8. Terrill completed the day with a line drive single again on an early count offering. His approach is hitterish, and he hunts early offerings to attack, which suits his strong bat-to-ball profile with barrel awareness. Predominantly a 2B, he shifted over to the 3B with Kaylor on the mound, altering the complexion of the Bulldogs' defense. With a mixture of soft chop GBs, hard hit line drives, and a high chop GB all coming his way, Terrill was able to complete each play with ease, including the high chop where he smoothly gathered after a leap to start the front end of a 5-4-3 double play to get the Bulldogs out of a jam. His hands are soft, and the feet work for the corner while showing enough present arm that as he adds strength in the future, there may be a home for him on the left side of the dirt in the future. All in all, Terrill will be a close follow for me going forward in the mold of Mason Trigo (the Bulldogs Sr. 3B/SS who first caught my eye two years ago as a standout Soph. on the varsity level).
