Athletic build at present with emerging strength in frame Hit: RHH. Balanced event set up with feet and small bend to his knees with a slight hip hinge. High back elbow with hands set near the head above shoulder height with flat bat angle. Shifts weight into his backside with small foot lift that hangs briefly before moving forward to the launch position. Hands push back to load the barrel. Shows a quick turn with his hips while staying in a taller posture as the rear shoulder drive through contact. Hands and barrel work on a direct level path that shows leverage through the zone. 65.8 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 89.0 mph. 319' max distance. Line drive oriented swing with the ability to elevate to the pullside. Solid present top end EV with consistency that will presently play as mid to oppo doubles power with ability to run one out to the pull side. Arm: RH. INF-89 mph. Present arm strength shows the ability to stick at SS. Compact arm path and aggressive body with low online carry to his throws that flashes accuracy. Defense: Plays with rhythm and athletic movements going into and through the ball while showing lateral/downhill range and the comfort to play 1 or 2 handed. Shows long term SS projection. Sim is looking at a potential full time starting role as a Soph. on a Notre Dame High School squad which is loaded with talent and he showed why in the High Desert. Sim has started to grow and fill out his frame which now stands 5'10 and just over 170 lbs. that maturity/strength gained has helped his solid overall toolset take steps forward which included an event best 89 MPH arm velocity on the INF (plus the actions in his hands/feet/accuracy to profile as a SS long term). Sim posted a 7.0 60 time which is fringey for a SS, but when you consider he is just a Soph. there is plenty of time to improve that again showing his projection as a SS. What jumped out beyond just his defensive acumen was the quality of his RH hitting profile which showed very well both during BP and in game. Sim posted a max EV at 95.8 MPH while averaging 89 MPH during BP from a swing that found the sweet spot 67% of the time. During the game he smoked a single up the middle and played solid defense.
