Future Games Tryout: Malibu - Infielder Analysis

On Saturday, May 31st, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the Future Games Tryout: Malibu at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Cal. This was an invite-only event for high school classes (2026-27), and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

Nearly 40 players made their way to Pepperdine University this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Today, we will be looking at all of the infielder scouting reports:

TOP INFIELD PROSPECTS

1. Cole Munyon, Newbury Park High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/RHP Physical MIF with natural actions, confident glove, and easy swing that flashes raw power.
Body: 6-1, 180 pounds. Strength throughout, long levers.
Hit: RHH. Wide setup, minimal weight shift to backside. Quiet front foot stride. Vertical bat with an easy swing, uses natural power. 67.2 mph bat speed with 8g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 mph max exit velocity (82.7 avg.); 311-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 82.00 mph. Quick arm, short action, whippy.
Defense: Natural look, athletic, confident hands.
Athletic Testing: 7.00 runner in the 60-yard dash; 18.20-inch max vertical jump.
