Jack Swanberg, RHP, Torrey Pines, 2025, UCSB Commit
Jack Swanberg is a name to know as the season progresses, showing off his two-way talent in a strong outing against the Bobcats. The UCSB commit impressed on the mound, striking out four and carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning before the Bobcats managed their first two hits of the evening, finishing his outing with 4 ⅔ innings pitched. His fastball set the tone, pounding the zone and forcing swings, while his sharp 11-5 curveball, aided by a high three-quarters arm slot and long follow-through, kept hitters off balance. Though he struggled to command his slider, his presence on the mound remained dominant. At the plate, Swanberg displayed mature pitch recognition, pulling a hard double to left in the first and later driving a high fastball to right for a single. With his ability to impact the game on both sides, Swanberg is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing two-way players to watch this year.
