Body: 6-1, 165-pounds.
Defense: Fielded nicely, on target throws highlighted his showing, smooth release and feel.
Arm: OF - 80 mph. Quality outfield arm, underclass gives him a chance for more.
Hit: RHH. Compact setup, short swing, smooth finish. Blast Motion scores of 68/36/67. Above-average plane and rotation scores show he is able to get on plane fast and stay in the zone longer at a high rate.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity.
Run: 6.74 runner in the 60.
Delivery: Worked from the windup and the stretch. Showed some flow, bend at the waist, lower half drive. High leg kick, slow actions, clean follow through.
Arm Action: RH. Medium arm swing, consistent speed, high-3/4 slot, some deceleration.
FB: Commanded side-to-side and down in the zone, two-seam run would benefit.
CB: 12/6 type shape, showed some bite, out pitch, cutter addition would help curveball offering.
CH: Released with same action as fastball, sink and fade, best off-speed offering.
Preseason All-State. This is our first look at Giesegh in this type of setting. Stands on medium/large, proportional, athletic frame. Started the day with a good 60 time. Looks comfortable in the box, stands tall, with open stance. Has soft foot strike on approach to contact, with an aggressive swing. Ball gets backspin and carry. Adding strength will allow him to get to the inside pitch and drive it. Showed good athleticism and footwork around the bag, and is able to turn the double play with ease. Demonstrate the ability to make strong, accurate throws with proper mechanics.
Riverside County Preseason All-State - Average build with long arms and twitchy actions in a 6-foot 167 pound frame. Corner infielder with point and shoot style mechanics. Extremely short arm path with a tight pause in the back before release. Fastball was straight with some downward movement at 77-78 mph. Featured a slow and loopy curveball at 60-64 mph for strikes. Change-up was repeatable at 67-68 mph but lacked swing and miss movement. Did a nice job keeping his head still and repeating throughout his showing. Raw pitcher with room for more and could become a solid bullpen option down the line.
